Asus Debuts New ZenBooks With Latest AMD, Intel CPUs and GPUs

Asus stunned the world today by releasing two new laptops in its ZenBook series. The first model, the ZenBook S 13 OLED, will feature AMD’s most recent mobile processor and GPU technology. Meanwhile, the second model, the ZenBook Pro 15 Flip OLED, will showcase Intel’s 12th generation mobile CPU and Arc GPU technology to build a product that is as powerful as it is unique.

According to a press release, the ZenBook S 13 OLED has a 2.8K 16:10 display. This means that users will be able to enjoy rich and vibrant colours whilst using their device. In addition, the screen covers 100% of DCI-P3 colour gamut.

In this new PC, which is powered by the Rembrandt-based Ryzen 7 6800U (the system’s brains), you will find 8 cores and 16 threads with a 2.7 GHz base rate, which can go up to 4.7 GHz if needed. The Zen 3+ architecture promises a faster response time than AMD’s predecessors, although we’ll need to test that for ourselves! What really sets this system apart from its competition (other similar systems) is that it uses DDR5 RAM instead of DDR4 since it came out after one generation of Zen CPUs had been released. As far as the Radeon 680M graphics processor is concerned, those who are extra keen on having the absolute best graphics available may be slightly disappointed in this model because while it provides well over 120 frames per second on most games, like many other integrated graphics processors, it isn’t as powerful as a dedicated GPU.

Asus ZenBook S 13 OLED laptops include several impressive features for such a thin device. They are available in up to 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD (with read speeds of up to 6,500 MB/s), Dolby Vision and Atmos support, a Wi-Fi 6E radio for connectivity, from a charging port that is USB-C on the side of the laptop there are three more USB-C connections as well as an audio jack (3.5 mm in diameter). The unibody chassis is made of lightweight magnesium-aluminum alloy (2.2 pounds) and the battery should last up to 10 hours when fully charged.

Moving on to the Intel side of the equation, we have a new ZenBook Pro 15 Flip OLED which features a 12th Generation Core i7-12700H processor which is not only twice as fast but also offers double the longevity. It has six cores – two of which are used for high performance and four that are used for improving battery life. This new model comes equipped with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 memory, which runs at a speed of 4800MHz.

Asus. The brand new Asus 2-in-1 convertible laptop PC comes with a discreet Intel Xe or Arc graphics processor capable of 910MHz clock speeds (6 core/ 6 RT and 6/12 effective GPU compute units). Because the source material mentioned “up to,” it’s likely that there will also be models featuring integrated Intel and Arc processors.
